William “Billy” Dietz

Billy is a seasoned tea professional with over 16 years in the tea industry. By age 17, he became the youngest Certified Tea Specialist in North America through the Specialty Tea Institute (STI), and thereafter became a certified instructor for the organization.
Billy continued his education by completing courses with McCormick FONA and the Specialty Coffee Association of Europe. He has traveled extensively to immerse himself in the study of beverages and food and how they are interwoven into the cultures of each region.
Billy spent 9 years in research and development at DAVIDsTEA, where he pushed the boundaries of tea innovation and explored endless flavor possibilities. Now, as a co-founder of BDH Consultants, Billy's curiosity drives him to seek new and captivating ways to transform the tea-drinking experience, across all formats and industries.
In 2023, Billy published his first book, "Spill the Tea: Unveiling the Mysteries of Blended, Flavored, and Herbal Teas." The book serves as a comprehensive guide for tea industry professionals, entrepreneurs, and enthusiasts, providing an insider view of the complex industry of blended and flavored tea.
